Evan was called to the Bar of England & Wales in 2015 and the Malaysian Bar in 2016. He read law at the University of Reading and was trained as a barrister in Prifysgol Caerdydd. He also holds a professional diploma in International Arbitration and is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators. He has conducted trials and hearings in the High Court and Subordinate Courts and appeared as counsel in the appellate courts.  

Evan’s primary area of practice is dispute resolution. He primarily advises on disputes arising from medical malpractice & professional misconduct and appears as counsel for patients and healthcare providers to resolve medicolegal disputes in Court and the Malaysian Medical Council and Malaysian Dental Council.  

Evan’s work includes interaction between various disciplines of medicine and law and presenting expert evidence in proceedings. He has acted in cases involving anaesthesiology, cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, colorectal surgery, dentistry, dermatology, ear nose and throat (ENT), emergency medicine, gastroenterology, general surgery, neonatology, nephrology, neurology, obstetrics & gynaecology, oncology, ophthalmology, oral & maxillofacial surgery, orthopaedics, paediatrics, plastic surgery, psychiatry, rehabilitation medicine, radiology, rheumatology, urology, urogynaecology, vascular surgery and etc.

Evan has an interest in dragon boat racing and will participate in any team sport except for basketball. He has an innate fondness for nature and greenery and actively serves in his church’s ministries.
